Description:
The Interface Analyst is responsible for supporting workflows and projects aimed at improving the efficiency and growth of Athena health's interoperability network or 'backbone'. This network supports the transmission of various healthcare documents including lab results, imaging results, patient demographics, charges, appointments and prescriptions between athena and a Trading Partner. The Interface Analyst manages a large queue of projects for new interface build out and proactively identifies workflow deficiencies. Additionally, the Analyst will maintain relationships with interface vendors and work Production Support tasks as assigned. In performance of these duties, the Interface Analyst will actively collaborate with staff from Athena health's US-based operations teams on a daily basis. This position reports directly to the Interface Operations Manager in Watertown.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Project management and testing of EDI-related initiatives, including lab result interfaces, imaging report interfaces, clinical document interfaces, patient demographic interfaces;
* communicating with labs, hospitals, IT vendors, pharmacies and Athena stakeholders to convey interface status and timelines;
* managing a high volume of projects and tasks with competing priorities;
* Researching and incorporating trading partner technical, functional and QA requirements to EDI projects
* developing a comprehensive understanding of Athena health's healthcare transactions and how relationships between teams and their workflows influence complex problem solving
* Identifying operational inefficiencies and process breakdowns; contributing to the design of solutions to address the same
* collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop novel solutions to operations problems
* Extracting, synthesizing, and analyzing data.
* Diagnosing, analyzing and resolving issues related to electronic data interchange including but not limited to live lab, imaging, demographic and clinical document interfaces and electronic prescription routing
* Other duties as assigned by the Interface Operations Manager necessary to help optimize and expand EDI operations.
* supporting the training and mentoring of new hires.
Requirements:
* Graduate in engineering, science, or commerce stream
* Fluency and comfort with both spoken and written English
* Willingness and ability to work flexible hours to ensure substantial overlap with US-based teams (approx. 1pm - 10pm)
* Strong communication skills and an ability to effectively engage with members of geographically disparate teams in India and the US
* Excellent customer service skills and professionalism to effectively manage communication with external parties including US lab and imaging vendors
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
* Demonstrated experience identifying and addressing workflow inefficiencies and breakdowns
* Talent for managing problems through entire lifecycle from identification through resolution
* Ability to operate independently to execute goals, seeking assistance when needed
* Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Mastery of MS Office and the ability and desire to advance one's technical skill set
* Personal and professional drive to succeed
